During the coronavirus epidemic, instead of in-person meetings, you can participate in online SMART Recovery groups run by facilitators right here in CT. About SMART Recovery: SMART stands for “Self Management and Recovery Training.” SMART Recovery(R) is a support group model that offers peer support and skills building. Run by trained peer facilitators, SMART Recovery groups empower people to make positive changes in their life for any struggle they may have: substance misuse, anxiety, depression, anger, etc. You will learn tools and techniques for: Building and Maintaining Motivation; Coping with Urges; Managing Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviors; and Living a Balanced Life. Scalzi Park is the largest recreational area within the Stamfrod city limits. It features tennis, basketball, volleyball courts, and baseball and softball fields, running and hiking trails as well as a bocce ball arena. It also houses Cubeta Stadium, which is home to the Stamford American Legion baseball squad.
