Urgent Help

Crisis Call/Text Lines

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States and its territories. The 988 Lifeline consists of a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining local care and resources with national standards and best practices. In CT, 988 is answered by the 211 call service and is connected with regional mobile crisis teams that can provide crisis support and deescalation either virtually or in-person. Please note that calling or texting 988 may result in emergency intervention.

The Trevor Project’s trained counselors understand the challenges LGBTQ+ young people face and are available for support 24/7. Please note that in very specific instances of abuse or a clear concern of an in-progress or imminent suicide, Trevor counselors may need to contact a child welfare agency or emergency service.
