Excellence in Advocacy Award
This award was created to recognize the contributions of Dr. Karen Kangas, former Executive Director for Advocacy Unlimited Inc. and a tireless advocate for those living with mental health and addiction recovery. Advocacy Unlimited honors an individual who has worked to advance the health, well-being, and rights of people with mental health challenges. Through tireless efforts, this person has championed equal access to opportunities and protections for all, demonstrating unwavering courage in their advocacy. With compassion and humility, they uplift others while working and advocating for the some of the most vulnerable populations in our state.
